Tips . . . A few ideas for beginning the new year…List the W2s, 1099s and interest income statements you expect. Check each off the list when received. Consider paying off your credit card debt with a low rate home equity line of credit. If you haven't winterized your house, following are some things you may want to check out. Make visual inspection of roof and chimney, clean our gutters and downspouts, check insulation, heating and cooling systems, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, caulk doors and windows, check sump pump Organize your decorations before storing. Use separate boxes for each room's holiday items but store all the boxes in the same place. Number the boxes and list the contents the 3/5 cards…you could put them in an envelope and tape to one of the boxes. If you see you have decorations you haven't used for years, throw them away! Store candles in an area that remains cool, even in summer. You'll be less stressed next December by organizing your decorations now.
